On this page I’d just like to give you some information on our flights, drive times, helpful tips, housing, location, and so much more! Please note this may feel choppy but for the sake of time and space and TLDR, just go with it! Our vacation was June 12-22, 2019.
Flights: We flew over night to Las Vegas straight through for a really good price. We got our flights at the beginning of February 2019.
Hotel: We stayed a Planet Hollywood once we got to Vegas for cheap! It was fine for those of us who had not been to Vegas because we wanted to walk the strip the next morning; but I think next time I’d get a hotel at the end of the strip with no frills and easy parking. We booked this beginning of March 2019.
Car: We rented through Budget. Easy pick up and the best prices we found for an SUV. Rented end of May 2019.
KANAB, UT – Was home base for us. I chose this spot after looking at the places we wanted to visit and knowing a home base would be ideal for my family verses packing up every few nights and moving around. It was also a lot more cost effective for us to spend $200/night on a massive home than to get hotels for 3-4 sets of people. We rented a home through HOMEAWAY a year in advance (6/18).
Kanab ended up being a perfect spot. In the middle of most of what we wanted to see with plenty of restaurants, grocery store options (extremely expensive), gas and gift shops.

DAY 1 – Fly from Cleveland to Las Vegas
DAY 2 – Walk the strip then leave for Kanab, UT
DAY 3 – Bryce Canyon (Navajo Loop, Sunset Point, Sunrise Point, Rim Trail & Queens Trail)
DAY 4 – Lake Powell – Paddleboard / Wahweap Overlook
DAY 5 – Coral Pink Sand Dunes & Water Canyon Trail
DAY 6 – Zion National Park (The Riverwalk, Weeping Rock, Emerald Pools, Zion Lodge, Court of the Patriarchs) / Guests Arrive
DAY 7 – Grand Canyon – North Rim (Cape Royal, Roosevelt Point, Visitors Center)
DAY 8 – Zion National Park – Angel’s Landing
DAY 9 – Guests (Bryce Canyon) / Moqui Cave/ Ice Cream – back to watch a movie
DAY 10 – Lake Powell – Boat Rental
